Are we a group that thrives on excitement or what? A few minutes ago (about 11 PM EDT) the fire alarm in the motel went off and we all evacuated to the parking lot. Turns out that a member of the motel staff had a (incense?) candle in a office - the door was closed and the smoke from the candle became sufficiently concentrated to trigger the alarm.
Yes, it was loud, enough awaken comatose teenagers (these alarms are designed to do this - I can attest that the alarms installed here did the job).
Anyway, we're all back inside and trying to get back to sleep.
